Surface preparation is the process for treating the surface of the vessel, preparing it for the application of the protective coatings ( primer, paint, antifouling,etc). This process can be done by different methods, but the most common is sandblasting and waterblasting, Both methods clear the surface of abrasives, corrosion, and impurities creating the clean surface for the application of coatings.
